EMOTIONS

Many of us who work from home must deal with a wide range of emotions. Sometimes we are riding high and feeling great. Sometimes we are wondering, what were we thinking to do this business. But, no matter what we always have to keep our emotions in check when dealing with our team and our clients.

I read a great book by Jill Lublin, "get noticed, get referrals". It's about building your client base and your business.

To quote a tiny section, "Calmly and unemotionally I address their concerns, but I do not address their opinions. I take the emotions out of the conversation and focus it entirely on our business. I present the facts and tell them what I noticed, not what I feel."

Taking her advice and applying her proven technique, then we can expect we are one step ahead of our competition because we are able to keep our emotions out of a conversation.

People purchase, say things and do things based on emotion. If we can keep a level head and listen with both ears, we will be able to help our clients and our team members with sound advice and address real issues.

If growing your business is important to you, then learning from others is vital. I know I don't want to re-invent the wheel. I want to duplicate what others have done to reach their goals so that I can reach mine and help others do the same.

It's amazing how we sometimes are unable to see how simple things can change a situation. It's just that we are so busy that we fail to see the small things that make the difference.

Can You Influence People's Decisions

Have you ever gone into a meeting and say to yourself, "I know I'm going to get them as a customer. They have a problem and I can solve it. There's no way I can lose." Then by the time you have left that meeting you were given, "Thank you and we'll need to discuss it with the board and we'll let you know."

Most people have been there and know exactly what I'm talking about. You were so sure and can't figure out Why you couldn't close the deal. 9 times out of 10 it's not because of the product or the company, but because YOU couldn't influence their decision. You couldn't persuade them.

Great book to read, and I highly recommend you do, is THE 7 TRIGGERS TO YES, by Russell H. Granger.

This book points out how we are human not robots and that we need to not try to make things logical when we do a presentation, but to understand and apply the persuasion to influence. People react on emotions first and understanding how to trigger that emotion to say "Yes" takes an understanding of how the mind really works.

Did you know that Emotional Quotient (EQ) means understanding how people process and react to emotional input. It's stated that those with high EQ produce better results than those with high IQ.

If you can harness what triggers a person to react the way you want them to, you have great potential to close a deal just about everytime. That's because you are able to "persuade" or "influence" their decision based on their own emotions. You have the ability to control the situation because you studied them and their reactions. As stated in the book, "Persuasion is not an event, it's a process. Persuasion is understanding human nature and the human brain, then working with the brain's natural process."

Go to www.seventriggers.com to select applicable elements, make notes and print them out.

I have tried many times to figure out what I could have been doing wrong, why I couldn't motivate people, close more sales and I think I found out why after reading this book. In order for me to better lead, I need the power to persuade.

So analyze yourself and ask the question, "Can I influence people's decisions?" If you have been struggling with inconsistent sales, closures, motivating your group, then the answer may be "NO." There is hope you just need to learn the secrets.

Are You A Cow or a Rhino

All too often people tend to stay where they are comfortable.  Never roam outside their area.  Stick to the same routines.  Travel the same roads.  Associate with the same people at the same places.  Eat at the same places and live their lives the same day after day.  Nothing changes.  And why not?  Because you are familiar and comfortable in those surroundings.  So therefore, you are a COW.  Someone who is content in grazing in the same pasture with a herd of others just like you.

Now, only a select few like to venture into the jungle.  These people stray from the traditional mundane way of life seeking adventure.  Traveling unkown territory, creating new paths, joining up with different people and trying new foods, new ideas and creating excitement in their lives.  The thrill of taking charge of their destiny.  These people are RHINOS.

Lets put these two catagories into perspective.

If you have wondered about a home based business, you first need to decide what you are.  A Cow or a Rhino.

If you see yourself as a Cow, then you are content and perhaps a home business may not be suitable for you.  You are happy with your life, job and the income you make.

If you are a Rhino, then a Home business is exactly what you need and suitable for you.  You want more out of life, more adventure and more money.

Many people often wonder what it would be like to have their own business, but only a few will attempt it.  It’s okay to dream, but unless you take direct action to make that dream come true, you’ll never achieve it.

I am looking for those Rhino’s that are willing to work at achieving their goals.  Willing to be adventurous and take risks.  Willing to travel a different path and meet new people.

Rhinos are the people that don’t give up or give in.  They set a goal and work towards that goal with new paths in front of them.  They are the ones that become successful because they are determined to be successful.

Now, I can't take credit for this, but Jerry Clark had a great CD that discusses in full the Cow or Rhino analogy.  You can learn more about Jerry by picking up "The Art of Designing Your Destiny".

So, have you decided what category you are in?  Cow or Rhino?

If you said Rhino, then you need to make your move through the jungle and join my team by visitingwww.newmood.scent-team.com/newsignup?php

If you said Cow, then this may not be a business for you and I suggest you visit www.newmoodscents.com to view our products and learn more about our company.

If you said, I’m a cow, but want to be a Rhino, then visit www.wealthwithcandles.com/newmood?more  to further research this great opportunity.

I am a Rhino and I love to run with other Rhinos.

If you have any questsions, please feel free to contact me.

How We Approach Life Directs The Actions We Take In Life

Everyday we have many decisions we have to make.  We start with the basics of what to wear and what to eat.  Now we decide what we do for the rest of the day.  Do I go to work?  Do I  hang out after work? Do I go shopping?   If I go shopping what do I want to buy?

These are your routine questions and decisions that we must all make to get through the day, but there is one question that doesn't come up often, but should.

What do I want out of life?

We can take our everyday approach to the simple decisions and get by, but if you don't take a serious look at what you want out of life, then you are going to never grow personally or financially.  You have got to approach life with ways to always be moving forward and thinking positive that you can "Achieve" your goals.

If your actions are based upon your attitude and approach, in this case being self-employed, you feel you don't need to advertise, you don't need to call people back, you don't need to work on your skills, then you will not reap the rewards and you have let yourself down which results in your success ultimately your pocket creating a failing business.  This is because your "approach" directed your actions to "not" do anything to further yourself.

A great person whom I just watched on Youtube, Tony Robbins, should help you put things into perspective.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etArvM1WUE4

After you have viewed the video, ask yourself "How is my approach in life directing the actions I take in life?"

Great way to analyze yourself and see what areas you think you can improve upon.

I hope this gives you direction and gets you on the path to
fulfilling your dreams!

If you often wonder, if there is a business for me that is profitable and fun, then go to www.newmoodscents.com and check out the video presenatation.

What these two have in common, Bill Clinton & Robert Kiyosaki

For many network marketers we are always looking for ways to reach new people.  Sometimes we come across blogs and videos that help promote the idea of WHY a home based business is the future and how Network Marketing is the key.

If you follow me on Twitter you'll see I've posted two  YOUTUBE videos that prove my point.  If not follow me  www.twitter.com/newmoodscents

Video from Bill Clinton on “Direct Selling” (3.15 minutes)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_eGbfTPbGY

Video from Robert Kiyosaki on “Why Network Marketing?” (10.56 minutes)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQM8rQzw7kY&feature=related

What do they have in common?

Now, two very different people with different backgrounds, but they each believe in Network marketing.

We can all agree that unless you tell people what you do, don't expect to be successful.  You've got to be "in the game" and letting everyone you know and meet what it is you do.  Connections need to be made and most of the time you need to connect the dots for people to help them better understand how they can better help you. You'll find by asking "who do you know" will help start the process of communication, connecting the dots and getting you names and numbers of people who can either promote your business, buy from you or join your downline.  If you don't ask, you'll never get.  Assuming everyone knows what you do and offer will be your downfall.  Even if it's your friends and family that "think" they know what you do.

If you believe that you just handing someone a card and expecting they'll call you will make you rich, you better re-think your financial future.  Yes, you need to hand out your cards, but you need to make them want to call you and you need to get their information so you can call them.  If your shy, GET OVER IT!

Hey, nothing is ever easy and finding creative ways to connect with people can be exciting and fill your pockets.  Just be smart about what you and how you do it!

Investing in Self-Development

Taking advice from my upline I started investing more time into Self-Development.  I recently purchased a book by Direct Selling Woman Alliance, "Build It Big".  If you haven't read this book, DO!

I found some really great advice immediately upon reading.  Without writing the book for you, here are a few points that I think can help everyone no matter how long you have been in business.

A)    Treat everyday like your first day of business.  Keep it fresh.  Remember everyday is a gift to you.

B)    Use your inner power to open doors to freedom, education and business success.

C)     Stay alert - don't ignore new opportunities.  See yourself as a go getter with the power to turn NO into YES!

D)    Determination finds many ways to succeed.  Most successful people overcome obstacles to reach success.
Their achievements come after doors closed, dreams derailed and people laughed at them.  They stood firm in their belief in their success.

E)     Constantly improve yourself.  Always improve your knowledge and skills of what's happening in your industry.
Always be learning something new.

These brief descriptions just touch the very surface of starting your business or getting back into the enthusiasm of starting your business again.  It is strongly suggested you keep a journal of your actions, your dreams, your ideas, how you plan on achieving your success and taking your desire, your mental picture of what you want to accomplish with this business and literally find a picture that portrays your desires and place it in front of you everyday and tell yourself everyday you can achieve it and you will have it.
Sometimes we all find ourselves stuck in a rut and feel we are heading into a wall.  If you stop, think and look at your desire you can gather that inner energy, start thinking of new ways to do things and keep a positive attitude.  Without a positive attitude about our business and about ourselves, you'll find you've quite and gave up on yourself.  Attitude is everything.  Your attitude will direct you on the choices you make.

It's been said many times before, "If you want to succeed, you need to hang around successful people."

Think about that.  Would you want to hang around people that are always angry, put you down, look at their lives of being unfulfilling.  If you do, you'll be one of them.

If you stay around people that are happy, positive and love life, no matter how rich or poor they are, these people will always be rich and happy because they see life as a blessing and something to be enjoyed.  Only you can judge your own level of success.  We all have our own levels of success and what makes you happy and achieving whatever goals you have set for yourself only makes you appreciate your efforts and determination that you are fulfilling your dreams.

So when you think you've done all you can do, Stop, Rethink, Look at your Why, Focus on being positive and Start your business like it was your First Day with enthusiasm.

Are You Setting Goals and Tracking

Do you ever wonder what would have happened if you stuck with your Goals?

Many people, including myself, have often asked ourselves that question. Especially if you're in business for yourself.  You think your doing everything possible to achieve that Goal(s) that you've set for yourself and then give up before you've really given yourself a chance to accomplish them.

Do you keep track of your daily routines?  Do you make the phone calls you've had scheduled?  Do you do up letters and flyers on time? Do you make a new list of Goals every couple of months?  I think majority of people don't.  The excuse, "I don't have time", "It's complicated", "I know what I'm doing", "I don't need to write them down", and "This stuff really doesn't work".  With attitude like that I would definitely say that doing what it would take would never get accomplished; therefore, you deviate from your Goals.

If you have a dream, a goal that you really desire, write it on a big piece of paper.  Post it on the wall, post a picture of your dream or goal and look at it every day and say to yourself, "I can achieve this.  I want it and I will have it."  But, you must remember to do the things you don't do "TRACKING" in order to achieve it.  You'll find out what your weaknesses are and your strong points.  You'll find your saving valuable time being able to do the things you want to do instead of chasing yourself in circles trying to accomplish a simple task.

Working towards your Goals and following your plan of action is what makes the difference between successful people and those wanting to be successful.  It's all up to you.  Do you have what it takes to stick it out?  If you do, then there will be no doubt you will achieve your Goal.  It just takes time.  You just need to be willing to wait and work at it.

I have learned this approach through my support system.  I can show you how I did it.

We should always be looking ahead and sharpening our skills.

I hope if you learn anything from this, you've got to have Goals and a Plan to get there.

On to Success!!!!!!
